Bali is famous for its traditional dances. One of them is the famous Barong & Keris Dance telling a story from the ancient Ramayana Epic. Our first stop during this tour is to enjoy the beauty and gracefulness of the skillful Balinese dancers. The dance expresses the eternal fight between good and evil spirits and ends with the magical Keris (dagger) dance. Then we will proceed to the Village of Kemenuh to visit the talented Balinese woodcarving artists in their traditional workshops. You will see how they carve beautiful statues and works of art from a single block of wood. The journey then continues to Kintamani to view the breathtaking Lake Batur and the active volcano called Mount Batur (1,730 meters). Here is an opportunity for you to have lunch with an amazing view. Our next destination is Tampaksiring, ‘The Fountain of Youth” and Holy Spring.

The Unforgettable Sunset (approximately 5 hours)

Highlights • Mengwi Temple • Flying foxes and monkeys at Monkey Forest Included • Sunset at Tanah Lot Temple

This half-day tour is a must for Bali visitors. In the afternoon we first visit the principal temple of Mengwi: the Taman Ayun which was built in the early 17th century for the Prince of Tabanan. It is surrounded by broad canals, which signify the oceans of the world. Further on you will have the opportunity to see the monkeys at the Alas Kedaton Monkey Forest. The forest mainly consists of nutmeg trees, and is the habitat of fruit bats (Flying Foxes) and 3 big monkey families. Have your camera ready to take photos of the spectacular sunset at the enchanting Tanah Lot Temple, built on a rocky outcrop in the Indian Ocean just a few meters offshore. Watch the waves breaking on the rocks and take a look around to find the best spot for a romantic sunset around 6:00 pm – a truly unforgettable experience!

The Eastern Bali Mystic (9 hours)

Highlights • Batik painting demonstration • Besakih “Mother” Temple • Astonishing landscapes • Traditional Bali Aga village • Klungkung’s historic capital

In the village of Batu Bulan you will be introduced to the fine art of Batik painting. After this interesting visit, we proceed to the eastern part of Bali, which is dominated by the towering Mount Agung (3,142 meters). It is Bali’s most sacred and highest volcano and its last eruption was in 1963. Built on one of the volcano’s slopes, the Besakih Temple Complex is the most important and sacred temple for the Balinese Hindu community. For this reason it is known as the “Mother Temple”. At Bukit Jambul, we will stop for a refreshing view over the beautiful valley and the opportunity for lunch. On our way through the east of Bali you will discover the traditional village of Penglipuran. This village is unique for its different social community structure and layout, which dates back to the 16th century. On our return we will pay a visit to the Hall of Justice called “Kerta Gosa” in Klungkung, the former capital of Bali. NOTE: We recommend that you bring along a sarong to wear at the Besakih Temple.

The Magic Northern Bali (9 hours) Highlights • Beautiful Balinese rice terraces • Ulun Danu floating temple • Lovina beach • Visit to flower and fruit market • Buyan, Tamblingan and Bratan lakes

First we take you to the most scenic areas of Pupuan and Antosari, where the morning sunlight is ideal for taking pictures of the unique rice terraces. After driving through the highlands where coffee, cacao and lots of different fruits are also grown, we descend to the north coast. Lovina Beach, the quiet and nice black sand beach area is our next stop. Here will be an opportunity for lunch. After a relaxation break we continue on our 230 km route, winding up the mountain with magnificent views on the way until we reach about 1,200 meters above sea level where a striking panorama is spread before us. Passing by Lake Buyan and Tamblingan allows you to view an area which is the habitat of many species of birds, trees and flowers unseen anywhere else on the island. We then stop at Bedugul to visit Lake Bratan, the “Lake of Holy Mountain”, and its floating temple called Ulun Danu. This holy site is dedicated to Dewi Danu, the goddess of water. A bit further on, we will make a stop at the local flower and fruit market for the opportunity to buy fresh and natural tropical fruits directly from the farmers. It’s a long day driving across Bali, but it is well worth it to discover the heart of Bali’s impressive natural beauty
